An Apple in Hand

The girls were very excited for their 1st day of school! Lauren could hardly sleep the night before her first day of kindergarten and laid out all her clothes beforehand. She picked a flower to take to Mrs. Connors, her teacher, and giggled with excitement through the whole first day. Kaitlyn and Ashley's excitement was a bit more muted, but still there as Kaitlyn started 4th grade with Mrs. Raymond and Ashley went to Mrs. Kelly's 3rd grade class.

But we didn't see any bees there...

Lauren had a great time playing with cousins at our family reunion in Arizona last month, and still asks, "Dad, when can we go back to Bezona?"

Row, Row, Row

We had a great time a few nights ago out on Willard Bay with Marshall and his new boat. The girls had a blast skimming across the water and then jumping in and swimming for awhile. At the end, we even got to help tow another boat in that ran out of gas. It was a fun night!

A Fair Kinda Day

We had a good time at the Davis County Fair. The girls loved the petting zoo and especially liked feeding the goats and pigs. We saw bunnies and hens and turkeys and all sorts of farm animals, then tried some pony rides. Tanner especially loved the pony ride and was a little upset when we had to get off. It was a fun day!

Gather Round the Campfire, Kids

We had a fun time camping last weekend. We went up Farmington Canyon and found a nice spot. All the kids (plus cousins Braxton and Brynlie) had a ball playing games, cooking up hot dogs, and roasting s'mores while telling ghost stories. Tami and the little ones went home at dusk, but Kaitlyn and Ashley braved a night in the tent (with a special prayer that no bears would get us) and had a great time.

Princess Party

Lauren was SO EXCITED about her 5th birthday! She planned and planned the party for months and couldn't wait for the big day. She invited all her little friends to a princess party and had them all dress up as princesses. We played lots of little games and decorated castles, kissed frogs and finally ended with a princess cake. Lauren had a great day!

Silver Lake

We drove up Big Cottonwood Canyon, past Solitude to Silver Lake and had a fun picnic and "hike" (as much as a family with five kids, nine and under, can do) around a beautiful mountain lake. It was a perfect day and a lot of fun.
