Tanner, the Reluctant Soccer Star

Despite what the pictures show, Tanner really did have fun in his soccer games. He was usually ready to be done by halftime and didn't like getting pushed around by the masses of boys in the "swarmball" we call 4-year old soccer, but all in all enjoyed the season.

Hints of Fall

We drove up into the mountains and went on a nature walk yesterday between Conference sessions. Wow! Some amazing color already starting.

Happy 80th, Dad

It was a great experience to travel out to Virden, NM to see my Dad's grave and newly installed gravestone on Sep 18, 2011, his 80th birthday. I went out with Ray, Amy and my Mom and we had a good day together.

Golden Spike

We went out to the Golden Spike National Historic Site on Monday and saw a reenactment of the driving of the Golden Spike to finish the first transcontinental railway. The girls had learned all about it in school and were explaining it all as we drove there, then had fun watching actors reenact the ceremony and then watch as they drove the spike in and drove the steam locomotives in. We ended the outing with a drive by the new Brigham City Temple under construction and yummy fresh peach shakes at Peach City Diner in Brigham City.

Camping We Go!

We had a fun time at the ward campout this weekend. Dad and the four oldest conquered the great outdoors, trekking up into the mountains right behind our house. We perfected the "S'moreo" treat, scared the whole ward with Grandpa Jay's ghost story, and made it through the night without too many trips to the outhouses.

Denver Doings

We had a fun family trip to Denver. Besides cheering BYU on to victory (yea!), we enjoyed swimming at the hotel, visiting with the Becks, the Butterfly Pavilion with literally tens of thousands of butterflies, the Denver Aquarium and the American Girl Store (which became a very expensive stop!). What a fun city!

March Madness

We decided at the last minute to go to Denver a few weekends ago and cheer on the BYU Cougars in their NCAA Basketball tournament game vs Gonzaga. Wow! What a game! What an experience! We cheered on Jimmer and the boys until our voices were gone and kept on cheering. It was a great experience and a lot of fun being there with the Becks and Carl. Go Cougars!

O-V-I-C

Lauren is excitedly getting ready for the First Grade Patriotic Program and they're learning the Neal Diamond song "Coming to America." Yesterday, she asked me what "O-V-I-C" from the song spells. I wasn't sure, so I asked her to sing it from the song and she sang loudly "O-V-I-C, O-V-I-C, Today!" I thought about it for a second. "Oh," I told her, "you're actually supposed to sing 'Of Thee I Sing, Of Thee I Sing, Today!"

Blessing Picture of Logan

What a darling boy!

Logan's Blessing

We had a lot of family support for our blessing of Logan on Sunday. Grandma Richardson flew up from Arizona and celebrated the big event with us, as well as lots of family from all over Utah. We had a nice day and are glad Logan is part of our family.

Sledding All the Way

We've had a lot of snow lately, perfect for some snow fun!
